Royal premiered film British film director Marcus Dillistone has designed and constructed two art suites at the world famous ICEHOTEL in Arctic Sweden: Mind the Gap (2013/14) & Frigid Dare (2010/11). These art installations featured in media around he world, including the BBC, Washington Post, Paris Match, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Guardian, Time Out, Metro, Express & the New York Times.

ICEHOTEL 2010/11 ART SUITE “FRIGID-DARE”

Marcus completed an ICEHOTEL suite previously, in winter 2010. It was called ‘Frigid Dare’, and guests slept in a giant fridge with a gargantuan milk carton, a two-tonne ice egg rack, massive snow eggs, a lemon the size of a boulder, and an open sardine can for a bed, complete with Swiss cheese headboard!

ICEHOTEL 2013/14 ART SUITE “MIND THE GAP”

The last stop on the Northern Line. Marcus’ second suite, made in 2013/14 is Mind the Gap. The full scale tube train and station in snow and ice juxtaposes the urbanity of London’s Tube network with the Arctic wilderness of ICEHOTEL’s location. Transport for London cited Marcus suite as a top ten highlight of London Underground's 150th anniversary celebrations.
